The Coastal Otago branch of the NZ Tree Crops Association maintains the largest heritage apple orchard in NZ, only 15 minutes from Dunedin on the Mount Cargill Road. The branch, in partnership with the University of Otago has commenced gene sequencing nearly 400 cultivars in the collection.
