BeachCare members will give advice or help people pick out the best plants for their garden or property. All plants are suited to coastal Otago but some species are found further inland as well as the coast.

Directions to Nursery: 470 Tomahawk Road, Ocean Grove. Continue past the Smaills Beach carpark and when you get to the Tautuku Fishing Club take the sealed road to the right. The nursery is on the right-hand side, near the bottom of the Karetai track.

Hosted by Tomahawk Smaills BeachCare Trust: The Trust aims to replenish the local environment in the Tomahawk/Smaills area by replanting, dune stabilisation and catchment care. The nursery is the hub of the BeachCare Trust.  Thousands of eco-sourced (locally occurring seed collection) native plants from the nursery have already been planted in the dunes. the nursery produces around 4000-5000 natives per year.
