Incredible, Edible Seaweed with Izumi Uchida

  • NZ Marine Studies Centre 185 Hatchery Road Dunedin, Otago, 9014 New Zealand (map)

One of the easiest ways to eat seaweed is roasting, or drying in the sun. This technique is effective with thin and wide seaweed.

Enter into the incredible world of our local seaweed. Join Izumi Uchida and the NZ Marine Studies Centre team for a workshop. Learn how to recognise and prepare local edible seaweeds. There will be tastings and recipe ideas for including seaweed in your everyday meals.

Workshop facility is accessible by wheelchair. There is a shore visit included which requires walking down stairs to a rocky shore, but alternative activities will be provided if you cannot do this.
